2020-2021 Lawson Chamber Committees
Executive Board Committee (President, President-Elect, Secretary & Treasurer)
Establishes the goals for the chamber and plans and strategies to meet those goals. Responsible for nominating new board members when needed. Review monthly financial condition of the chamber and present the annual budget. Develop written policies and procedures to guide the Chamber Board and Committees. Draft updates to the bylaws as necessary.
Marketing Committee & Social Media
Coordinate overall marketing efforts of the Chamber including but not limited to website, social media, email blasts, fliers and posters.
To be a community relations outreach to visit current members and new members while seeking to provide guidance and support. To retain and increase membership in the Chamber. Coordinate ribbon cuttings and groundbreaking ceremonies and other events to recruit or welcome new members and businesses to Lawson. Will mail out annual membership stickers and information as renewals are paid.
Plans and organizes all events for the Chamber, including the Annual Awards Dinner in May and the Legislative Breakfast in August. Each event should have its own chairperson. This committee has the following sub-committees.
• Chamber of Horrors Committee (Roxann Shook, Chair)
Coordinates all efforts for the Chamber of Horrors Haunted House which raises money for the Chamber scholarships.
• Holiday Lighting Committee (Kelli Easley, Chair)
Coordinates all efforts in conjunction with the Parks Board for the holiday lighting ceremony.
• Patriotic Celebration Committee (Kelli Easley, Chair)
Coordinates with the City and other organizations for the annual fireworks celebration at Hidden Valley Golf Course.
Scholarships & Awards Committee
Draft submission form for the Chamber Scholarships available to Lawson High School Seniors. Should promote scholarships and gather submissions to be reviewed by committee and presented to the Board for approval. Submit 3 nominations for Chamber Business and Chamber Volunteer of the Year (should not be a board member).
To recruit members for open board positions. Candidates should be presented to board at April meeting for pre-approval then go before the entire membership body for a vote. Board positions run from June 1st to May 31st.
